A New Accounts/Customer Service Representative is the first person most customers and visitors see when they enter the Bank. This person's friendliness and ability to assist with the customer's needs reflects directly on the Bank's motto of "Serving You Is What We Do Best". Their primary responsibility is to be knowledgeable of Bank products and services to assist customers with new account, IRA or CD needs or by directing customers to the department that can best offer assistance. The successful New Accounts/CSR will have the ability to discern the customer's needs to assist accurately and efficiently and, considering the nature of this position, the ease to work at other locations as assigned.

Qualifications - ONLY THOSE WHO MEET MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR EMPLOYMENT
* One year experience in new account opening is preferred; some knowledge of the loan process would be a plus. Will consider one year clerical experience from legal or other fields.
* A basic working knowledge of Word and Excel and moderate keyboarding skills would be helpful.
* A working knowledge of Bankway would be a plus.
* Crucial skills include organizational, initiative, communications (verbal, written and interpersonal), the ability to work independently according to Bank policy and procedures; the ability to meet deadlines and to
   offer assistance to others in a helpful manner.
* Must have the ability to focus on a task in an open environment with the expectation of interruptions
* Responsibilities require attention to details and knowledge of Bank products and services in order to assess customer needs and to handle various questions or issues that may arise.

* MUST BE FLEXIBLE IN WORK LOCATION AND WILLING TO TRAVEL TO LAUREL OR ELLISVILLE UPON NOTICE.

The successful New Accounts/CSR understands the importance of excellent customer service. This person greets customers and visitors upon arrival and offers assistance immediately in a friendly and welcoming manner. This person reads at a level sufficient to understand memorandums, instructions and related forms; writes clearly, concisely and legibly; possess strong interpersonal skills to interact with co-workers and customers by phone and in person; can work in an open lobby environment yet be able to focus on the task at hand; understands the necessity of meeting deadlines; uses good judgment and exercises confidentiality.  

Primary Objective  - To perform job responsibilities basic to the area of new accounts and in strict adherence to applicable federal and state rules and regulations as well as Bank policies and procedures.

Responsibilities – To acknowledge and greet customers upon their arrival and to offer assistance in opening a new account (IRA, CD, checking, savings or other), create debit cards, perform account maintenance (i.e. updating customer contact information), clear exceptions in compliance with regulatory guidelines, order checks, scan paperwork, answer phones and assist co-workers as needed and perform general clerical duties. Depending on location, could assist with or serve as loan support or be responsible for some part of credit card administration.

Expectations - To perform all job duties and responsibilities as assigned and to follow all safety rules and regulations.

Regular attendance according to the work schedule is necessary and essential as is receiving detailed information verbally, in person and by telephone. Extensive reading and computer use is expected the majority of the time.
